Creativity Meets Mortality: A New Collaboration
Where music, memory, and entrepreneurship converge
Hello beautiful people,
As summer winds down here in Louisville, I recently had the opportunity to collaborate with a grief therapist and attorney, acknowledging music and mourning and realizing sometimes dusting yourself off and doing the opposite of what is ‘expected’ is best. The experience reaffirmed my belief that creativity can help us process the hardest moments.
Music Corner
Collaboration Spotlight: I just partnered with Suno on a campaign and am pretty excited to share the song and video soon! If you’re a Mortal, you’ve probably heard a snippet already! 🙂
Studio Notes: Ever had a creative block? Last week, I found inspiration by visiting a cemetery and letting the quiet inspire chord progressions.
Mortician’s Musings
Eco-friendly funerals are gaining popularity. Families are choosing biodegradable caskets, tree plantings, and music played by live musicians rather than recordings. If you’re interested in sustainable memorials, here’s an article I recommend.
Entrepreneurial Notes
Running multiple ventures means juggling priorities. This month, I experimented with time‑blocking—dedicating specific hours to composing, client meetings, and administrative work. It’s surprising how much clarity this brings. Give it a try and let me know how it goes!
Curated Inspirations
Community Corner
Last week I asked what song you’d want at your celebration of life. Top answers included “Here Comes the Sun” and “Amazing Grace.” Thank you for sharing your hearts! This week’s question: What topics would you like me to explore more—music creation, entrepreneurial tips, or mortician insights? Reply with your preference.
